LIZET

DINGEMANS

Lizet’s work is characterised by its emphasis on the beauty of simplicity.

About

Lizet Dingemans (b. 1990, Helmond, the Netherlands) studied Fine Art at the Angel Academy in Florence in the summer of 2011, and at the London Atelier of Representational Art (LARA) from which she graduated in 2016.

Lizet lives and works in London, where she is an artist and art teacher. Her work has sold in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and the USA. In 2018, she was a contestant in Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year and was nominated for Artists; Illustrators magazine ‘Artist of the Year’ in 2016.

Lizet’s work is characterised by its emphasis on the beauty of simplicity. Her training in classical art is crucial in achieving this. Drawing inspiration from the Old Masters as well as contemporary art, she combines the two into new and exciting artworks. By putting animals and objects out of context, as well as surrounding them in a way that relates to modern or older cultural references, her art can appeal to every viewer in a different way.

Despite still being an emerging artist Lizet has had great initial success by winning the Arts Trust Award of the RBA at her first-ever exhibition at the Mall Galleries. After this exciting debut, she has continued to exhibit at the Mall Galleries, notably the FBA Futures, which then toured the country. Her art has since been purchased all over Europe and her work now is shown in the permanent collection of the Modern European Art Museum in Barcelona.
