My latest oil painting is called “A Cardboard Story”. The subject is Simon who I met last November. Simon had suddenly found himself homeless and was struggling on the cold and wet streets of Southampton. We spoke of his journey to where he now was and I wanted to paint a glimpse of the loneliness of his story in the background which I painted as cardboard as cardboard is such a symbol of homelessness. This is part of my series of work on the growing crisis of homelessness.
The painting is oil on canvas and 76cm x 51cm
